Frostatinget
One of Norway's most important historic sites. Frostating was one of the four great thingsteads in medieval Norway, where laws were passed and disputes resolved.
Logtun kirke
A beautiful stone church from the Middle Ages, surrounded by a historic cultural landscape. Located by Tinghaugen, it is an important heritage site.
Tautra klosterruiner
The ruins of a Cistercian monastery from 1207. The monastery was founded by monks from Lyse Abbey and was an important religious and economic centre.
Tautra Mariakloster
A modern convent established in 1999. The sisters produce the famous monastery cheese, and the convent is today a peaceful place to visit.
Helleristninger Evenhus
A site with Bronze Age rock carvings at Evenhus. The motifs include boats and animals, offering a fascinating glimpse into prehistoric times.
